STATE LICENSURE RECIPROCITY DISCLOSURE
The California College of Barbering and Cosmetology (CAL CBC) will provide the program of study that meets curriculum requirements as prescribed by the state of California.
For states outside of California: the institution has not made a determination as to whether the program meets other state’s educational/licensure requirements.
With four programs and 49 other states, providing a licensing matrix for each state would require a small encyclopedia. If you are interested in finding out if your license can be used in another State, your best bet is to call the licensing bureau in that state and ask. For instance, Google “Colorado, licensing for cosmetologists” and up pops the link to the Colorado Office of Barber and Cosmetology License.
Another excellent route for Information regarding other states requirements can be found at this link.
The California College of Barbering and Cosmetology does not provide training or activities out-of-state. All programs offered at the institution lead to professional licensure in the state of California. All students, including those who live in bordering states, are notified prior to enrollment that education received at CAL CBC meets or exceeds the California regulations. These regulations require 1,000 hours of education for the Barbering license.
The institution makes information available to students and applicants regarding the hour requirements in other states (via the Consumer Information disclosures page on our website)* and recommend that all applicants and students familiarize themselves with the comparison of other states’ regulations and hours required for licensure, as applicable.
Additionally, the Transfer Policy indicates that CAL CBC does not guarantee transferability of credits earned to any other institution.” Per the transfer policy on the website and in the catalog, our curriculum has not been reviewed for compliance with other states’ professional licensure requirements.
I took my training seriously and used my resources to the fullest. Good experience here.
